Drafts of Thunder: Mario Kart & Beer Party (Charleston Beer Week)

On Wednesday, September 11 at 8pm, James Island’s award-winning brewery, Fam’s Brewing Co, will transform into Mushroom Castle for a special Charleston Beer Week event, Drafts of Thunder.

From the fever pitch of Mario Kart 64 racing to the various power-ups, Drafts of Thunder will leave spectators cheering for more as 64 people compete to be named the best racer in the Mushroom Kingdom.

Race day spectators can enjoy a pint of the Mario inspired sour starfruit beer, Mario Tart, or try some of the other beer surprises that Toad and Luigi have come up with.

In between races, spectators can play their own Mushroom Kingdom games such as turtle shell shuffleboard, and more.

Princess Peach and Mario also encourage everyone to dress as their favorite Mario character for a chance to win some awesome prizes.

Admission to the Mushroom Castle is free. There is a $10 entry fee to compete in the Mario Kart 64 tournament (includes one pint of FBC beer).

Event prizes include a Nintendo game system, Fam’s Brewing Co. house cash, and more.

This event is 21+ to attend and compete.
