Growers Groups: Lowcountry Farm Tour Farming for the Future
Cultivating new ideas in agriculture

Hop on the bus and join Lowcountry Local First and Clemson Extension's SC New and Beginning Farmers Program (SCNBFP) for a tour of three farm businesses with profoundly different perspectives on the future of sustainable agriculture. Meet at Vertical Roots to learn about their innovative container farm production methods, then head to Ridgeville to learn about industrial hemp production for fiber and oil from 2019 permit holder Charleston Hemp Company, and finish at Wishbone Heritage Farms where regenerative land management and intensive pasture rotation spotlight sustainable animal husbandry and meat production.

Lunch and snacks will be provided.

This is a family friendly event most appropriate for children 10+ 

Tour participants, please meet at 10am at the first stop: Vertical Roots’ Clements Crest facility at 1008 Clements Crest Ln Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29492. We will return by 5pm.
