Denial: History on Trial

Sun, Nov 11, 2018 at 1pm

This event has passed.

In a history-making court case, historian Deborah Lipstadt and Penguin Books were sued for Libel in an English court by David Irving, for accusing him of Holocaust denial. Deborah Lipstadt won the trial and became the topic of the film, Denial, scripted by David Hare and starring Rachel Weisz. Deborah Lipstadt will discuss the contemporary relevance of the case.

This event will be preceded by an optional ticketed reception. Sunday brunch is a Lowcountry tradition. Relaxed mornings with mimosas and Bloody Marys, breakfast casseroles and beautiful salads, are something we in Charleston take very seriously. Therefore we’re delighted to invite you to our first official C2C Sunday Brunch, hosted by Tom Taft at his home on Rainbow Row, to kick off the final day of Festival festivities. Brunch begins at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 11.
