The Goatober Roast will take place Wednesday, October 14 from 6:00 to 9:00PM at Palmetto Brewing (289 Huger Street). The event will feature all things goat and chefs BJ Dennis, Bradley Grozis from the Wild Olive, Bryan Cates from Basico, Kevin Getz from Indaco, Kevin Mitchell from the Culinary Institute of Charleston, Outta My Huevos and RJ Dye from The Lot will all be serving a dish featuring goat. Tickets cost $40 for Slow Food members and $50 for non-members and includes food from the chef stations and one beverage ticket. Other beverages will be available for sale. Patrick Martins of Heritage Foods USA will be at the celebration sharing more about this important campaign and signing copies of his book The Carnivore's Manifesto: Eating Well, Eating Responsibly, and Eating Meat. The Heritage Radio Network's Executive Director Erin Fairbanks will be attending the event as well and doing interviews related to Charleston in general including its Goatober efforts. And Slow Food USA President Richard McCarthy will be at the event providing an update on national initiatives. The V-Tones will be providing entertainment for the Roast.
