Ear For Music Presents Charles Wesley Godwin
Sun, Dec 13 at 7pm
- All Ages
For Charles Wesley Godwin, music — and more specifically, songwriting — has forever been a direct reflection of what lies on his heart.
Godwin began playing music while studying finance at West Virginia University, where he first learned to play the guitar and practiced songwriting. He describes his musical style as inspired by "...artists such as Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, John Prine, Chris Knight and Ryan Bingham". His first album, Seneca, was released on February 15, 2019.
Godwin's recent release, Christian Name, is undoubtedly an intensely personal collection of songs — a journey inside the courageous singer-songwriter’s soul. It’s a stunning 12-song collection, and one that doubles as a mechanism for the musician’s otherworldly healing. Christian Name is more than just another body of work; it’s how Godwin learned to live again. Through moments of mourning. Through tales of redemption. And ultimately, through a tried-and-true reaffirmation of his faith.
See him live at Holy City Brewing's - The Porter Room December 13.
