Experience a special evening with Oscar Rivers Jr., Charleston’s 86-year-old jazz patriarch, as he returns to the stage for the first time in a year. Born in 1940 and raised on Richmond Street in downtown Charleston, Rivers graduated from Burke High School in 1957 before establishing a monumental legacy as an educator and virtuoso saxophonist and pianist. Throughout his remarkable career, he has collaborated with some of music’s greatest talents, including Charlie Parker, Sonny Stitt and Stevie Wonder.
