The Cake

Della makes cakes, not judgment calls – those she leaves to her husband, Tim. But when the girl she helped raise comes back home to North Carolina to get married, and the fiancé is actually a fiancée, Della’s life gets turned upside
down. She can’t really make a cake for such a wedding, can she? 

The Cake is a representation of the dynamic challenges faced by people in our community everyday. Based on Masterpiece Cake Shop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission – a case about a gay couple who believe their civil rights were violated when the owner of the bakeshop refused to make their wedding cake because of his Christian beliefs.
