Asheville, NC based songwriter Paul Edelman (aka Jangling Sparrow) leans into old style soul and classic country/folk in the best tradition of artists like Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Townes Van Zandt or John Prine.
Originally part of the Philly music scene, Paul has shared bills with, Robert Earl Keen, Drive-by Truckers, James McMurtry, Neko Case, Big Sandy, Langhorne Slim, Patty Larkin,, The Sadies,, Bottle Rockets, Slim Cessna, Scott Miller, and he has recorded with Jimmy Johnson (founder Muscle Shoals Studio), Nashville staple session drummer, Martin Parker (Ricky Scaggs, Alison Krauss, Patti Loveless) and keyboardist Steve Fordham (Mavis Staples).
Paul relocated to Asheville, N.C. In 2008 where he quickly grabbed winner of the Flat Rock Music Festival songwriter competition.
