Author of Nora Goes Off Script and Same Time Next Summer Annabel Monaghan at Buxton Books
celebrating her new book, Summer Romance!

Wed, Jun 12 at 6pm

This event has passed.

Buxton Books and The Mills House Hotel are thrilled to welcome Annabel Monaghan back to Charleston to discuss her new book, Summer Romance

When Annabel Monaghan came to Buxton Books to celebrate Same Time Next Summer, it was a night filled with book clubs, hugs, bright pink custom-made t-shirts, and so much enthusiasm. Lot of jokes were made that we'd see her at the, wink, same time next summer, wink

We could not be more excited that Annabel has now actually agreed to come back and see us for an author talk on Wednesday, June 12 as she celebrates the release of her next novel, Summer Romance

After the bookstore program, ticket holders are invited to join us at The Black Door Café in The Mills House Hotel for a bookclub discussion with Annabel! Spoilers welcome for this portion of the evening so bring all your questions and thoughts to share with Annabel and fellow readers. Snacks and drinks will be provided!

We can't wait to hopefully see the same smiling faces plus some for our event with Annabel, which we know will be just as fun and vibrant as the first time she paid us a visit.

This is the perfect way to celebrate the season of reading great, romantic books on the beach, on the porch, at the park, the list goes on (aka anywhere there's sunshine, shade, and a comfy spot to relax and sink into a good book).

Doors open at 5:30 pm. Program begins at 6:00 pm. We hope you'll join us!

About Summer Romance
The heart-tugging and hilarious story of a professional organizer whose life is a mess, and the summer she gets unstuck with the help of someone unexpected from her past, by the bestselling author of Same Time Next Summer and Nora Goes Off Script.

Benefits of a summer romance: It’s always fun, always brief, and no one gets their heart broken.

Ali Morris is a professional organizer whose own life is a mess. Her mom died two years ago, then her husband left, and she hasn’t worn pants with a zipper in longer than she cares to remember.

No one is more surprised than Ali when the first time she takes off her wedding ring and puts on pants with hardware—overalls count, right?—she meets someone. Or rather, her dog claims a man for her in the same way he claimed his favorite of her three children: by peeing on him. Ethan smiles at Ali like her pants are just right—like he likes what he sees. He looks at her as if she’s a version of herself she hasn’t been in a long while. The last thing newly single mom Ali needs is to make her life messier, but there’s no harm in a little summer romance. Is there?
