Comedian Evan Berke (with Mario Tory and Deshawn Mason)
Sat, Jan 18 at 9:30pm
Comedian Evan Berke returns to the Holy City for his first Charleston show in almost 3 years.
Opening the night will be Mario Tory (Comedy Central's Hart of the City; Kevin Hart Presents: The Next Level; BET's 50 Central).
Local favorite Deshawn Mason will host the show.
Atlanta native Evan Berke began his comedy career doing open mics as an 18-year-old College of Charleston freshman in 2009. He soon graduated to performing and producing shows at Theatre 99, the Charleston Music Hall, and Woolfe Street Playhouse. Berke was instrumental in growing the local scene as Comedy Director of the annual “Jail Break” Music & Arts Festival. Alongside fellow Charleston comics Dusty Slay, Derek Humphrey, and Vince Fabra, Berke toured the Southeast, honing his comedic chops before moving to New York City in 2013 to advance his career. Berke has showcased at many of NYC’s legendary clubs, including Gotham, The Stand, and Comic Strip, and recently headlined Broadway Comedy Club. Evan’s deft charm and love for interviewing positioned him well to be the resident Host and Co-Producer of the storytelling event, PechaKucha x Brooklyn, as well as an On-Air Reporter for TMZ. Berke currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
