Nicole Taylor and BJ Dennis host The Up South Dinner at Joseph Fields Farm
an evening under the stars on Johns Island

Nicole Taylor, author of The Up South Cookbook and host of the Hot Grease podcast, will be coming to Charleston to promote her new cookbook, a collection of recipes that reflects Nicole’s Southern upbringing and the modern flavors she loves as a Brooklynite. 

For her Charleston visit, Nicole will be hosting a dinner with BJ Dennis at Joseph Fields Family Farm on Johns Island. The dinner will feature recipes from her cookbook and products from the farm.

The evening will begin under the stars at the farm with a bonfire and passed hors d’oeuvres including smoked mullet deviled eggs and crostini with collard pesto and chow chow. A seated dinner follows with Fields Farm fried chicken, Carolina rice pilaf with pecans and dried fruit, and a fresh salad based on what’s available that day at Fields Farm. Dessert will be a lemon pound cake with whipped herb creme fraiche.
