Elvis Ain't Dead Fest
This year marks the 39th anniversary of the greatest hoax in American history, the day that Elvis Aaron Presley faked his death and hopped on a plane to Argentina. This is an all day event where we will commemorate the King at the best bars in Charleston. Happy Hour at the Recovery Room will have deals on ice cold PBR's and peanut butter and banana sandwiches fit for the King himself available to all. Then a short pelvis strut away at the Upper Deck tavern, test your knowledge of the King for Elvis trivia with the winner receiving a limited edition black velvet Elvis print hand pulled by your man at Charlietown Prints. For very important Presleys (limit of 20) the boys at Charleston City Paper's best new restaurant Spero, will whip up an Elvis dinner inspired by the cookbook "Are you hungry tonight". After dinner, waltz them blue suede shoes to Local 616 to get your picture taken at the Elvis ain't dead photo booth provided by PBR, and show off the pipes at Elvis karaoke with a LIVE back up band! Make sure you bring your A game as you will be following the debut of the Southeast's best looking Elvis tribute band, its the debut of Dante's Jumpsuit, featuring members of the ever so suave Dante's Camaro and special guests! It's gonna be a hunk of burning sex on August 16!
